Philosophy
Shown above are some pictures I took of my two little work friends. You see my energetic Border Collie, Piper, taking a nap. This picture is deceiving because she is normally on the go! You can also see my sweet, lazy Mini Schnauzer, McKinley. These two friends love to go on outdoor adventures with me in my spare time. I enjoy camping, hiking, and other outdoor activities when I am not creating training or developing content. My philosophy is to work hard and play hard, enjoying a healthy balance in life.
EXPERIENCE
2016 - Present
Course Developer/ID (Higher Education)
I work with SMEs in various subjects such as English, Criminal Justice, Business, and Psychology to create courses in Moodle and Canvas using Asana as my project management
tracking system.
2021 - 2022
Training Specialist (Corporate)
I completed various tasks related to training employees. After a PeopleSoft upgrade was announced, I collaborated with stakeholders and the project management team, ultimately choosing to create approximately a dozen trainings with voiceovers to ensure employees and managers could successfully navigate the updated system. I won a Teamwork Award for outstanding contributions in training employees and managers on the PeopleSoft upgrade. Training was created through Articulate Storyline with Camtasia. Project management was tracked using an Excel spreadsheet.
2018 - 2021
Research and Training/ID (Corporate)
Working as a Research and Training Instructional Designer, I fell in love with corporate ID in this role. I created/updated approximately 20 interactive trainings using Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, and Camtasia. All of my trainings included voiceovers as well. Projects were managed using Gantt charts in Excel. By managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, I developed excellent project management skills. While working this role, I was the only designer selected during my employment period to develop a new training available to the public on our website. All our other trainings were only for Florida Highway Patrol or Highway Safety Employees. This was clear evidence of my ability to understand complex topics and transform those topics into understandable learning material for any audience.
